Let us discuss and learn about this seemly unpopular but essential banking tool by CBN know as Consumer Complaints Management System (CCMS) and the advantages to you as bank customer and to help stabilize the Nigerian banking industry/sector

Consumer Complaints Management System (CCMS) is a platform introduced by CBN in 2018 which was designed to be a bank customer complaints data bank to understand bank users experience with their banks and also ensure bank provide a solution as at when due to resolve customers complaints.

The Consumer Complaints Management System (CCMS) covers the following:

1) A central database where all banks and other financial institutions (BOFIs) are expected to submit their customers' complaint to on a daily bases

2) Each bank is required to generate a special code for each complaint and make it available to the affected customer (guess most Nigerians don't know this, now that you know, request it when you bank refused to attend to your genuine complaint)

3) All Banks must ensure to resolve the complaint within a given time base on CBN guidelines for such complaint
